Events

Due to his support for Catholic Emancipation, expressed in a letter to the Catholic archbishop of Armagh, the marquess of Anglesea and lord lieutenant of Ireland was recalled by Wellington. He sailed to from Dublin to Holyhead on the Pearl sloop of war, Captain Blake, and from there to his seat in Staffordshire until the opening of parliament.
