William Godwin's Diary


Following Wellington’s failure to form a ministry that would pass the Reform Bill as amended by the Lords, and with threats of popular violence, the King re-called Earl Grey as prime minister and agreed to create sufficient peers to pass the Reform Bill in its earlier version.
