This entry is unclear, although Locke reasonably conjectures that it might have been a mistake in a writ served on Godwin by Read, who the previous month had been awarded £373 6s. 8d. against Godwin for unpaid rent between 1820 and 1822. If this is correct, Locke speculates that it would have ‘enabled Godwin to hold him off that little bit longer.’
