Sir Francis Burdett (1770–1844) replaced G.B. Mainwaring as MP for Middlesex, after a campaign in which he was defeated as a result of corrupt practices by Middlesex sherrifs but saw the result subsequently overturned. Burdett sat as the member for Middlesex in 1805-1806 only for this result also to be over-turned.
