William Godwin's Diary

Events

Sir Timothy Shelley (Percy Bysshe Shelley’s father) refused to see Mary Shelley. Following the death of Charles Shelley, Percy Bysshe’s son by Harriet in September 1826, Mary’s son Percy became the only heir to Sir Charles. He agreed to see the boy in May with, it seems, Godwin acting as the intermediary. Sir Timothy continued to see the boy intermittently, but did not relent with respect to his mother.
