Reference unclear but 'C Valette' may well have been a relation or friend of Mary Jane Godwin's. He or she is referred to again in a domestic context on 7 June 1820 and on 20 September 1820 (when only the initials 'CV' appear). There is also a reference to 'CV' on 4 March 1821.
