Harriet Shelley arrived in town on this date. She and Percy Shelley subsequently called on Godwin but he would not see Shelley at his home, and so called on them later when he heard from Harriet a number of stories about Shelley, not least one which concerned a long-time family friend, Cornelia Turner (nee Boinville).
