Charles Clairmont returned to London on 22 January 1814 and clearly began to join James Marshall in attempting to hold off Godwin’s creditors. It is likely that Teasdale is a solicitor. Charles and Marshall saw him frequently in the ensuing month, as well as other figures conected with Godwin's finances.
