On 10 October, Godwin entered 'J C at home 2 nights' and then, on 22 November, 'Jane from W G, fever'. Although these entries relate to Jane 'Claire' Clairmont, they remain obscure (although the second one sugests that she had been staying with Godwin's distant relative).
