Events

Thomas Muir (1765–1799) and Thomas Fyshe Palmer (1747–1802) were arrested in Scotland and charged with sedition and sentenced to fourteen and seven years respectively. They were moved to Woolwich to the hulks to await transportation. Despite protests they were not reprieved. Muir escaped in 1796 eventually reaching Paris and Palmer died on a long, circuitous route home in 1802.
