William Godwin's Diary

Events

Godwin was in negotiation with George Robinson to identify a project that would enable Godwin to live without recourse to the journalism he had been undertaking for the New Annual Register. Both made various proposals before agreeing on a book on political principles, which became An Enquiry Concerning Political Justice (1793).

Godwin used the French word 'démêlé' to discretely indicate an argument or disagreement.
