William Godwin's Diary

Events

No advertisment has been found for this performance at the concert hall in Hanover Square, Mayfair, managed by Sir John Gallini. The Times does advertise a concert at Hanover Square on 14 May, in which Felix Yaniewicz was playing, and the DNB mentions that Yaniewicz performed one of his own violin concertos in a concert on the 3 May, organised by Salomon and given for Joseph Haydn’s benefit. The diary shows that Godwin became socially acquainted with Yaniewicz in the 1810s.
