William Godwin's Diary

Events

Amelia Curran (1775–1847) was an Irish painter and friend to Godwin. She was a frequent visitor to the Godwin household, initially with her father, John Philpot Curran before forging an autonomous friendship with the philosopher. Curran eventually became the portraitist of various members of the Shelley household including Percy Bysshe, Mary, and Jane 'Claire' Clairmont after moving next door to them in Italy in 1819.
