According to The Times, this was an ongoing mechanical scientific spectacle at Leicester House, Leicester Square, and featured a mechanical display of the universe, said to refute Newtonian system of astronomy. It also promised to 'prove beneficial to navigation and commerce', and even to eventually lead to the 'ascertainment of longitude at sea'. Godwin attended the exhibition with the Nicholson family.
