Mary Linwood (1755 – 1845) was a textile artist who in 1796 began preparing for an exhibition of an estimated 1500 square feet of her needlework. The show, which proved a popular success, opened in 1798 and ran for three years in hired rooms in Hanover Square and continued at Leicester Square after the death of her mother in 1804.
