WG's History of the Commonwealth notes that Morgan played a distinguished role in Scotland 1651-7 as adjutant to General Monck. In 1660 Morgan aided Monck in restoring the monarchy.
WG reads in the British Museum on this date. He may have been accessing the numerous letters of Major-General Morgan. These are currently held by the British Library.
