Mercuries (12  May  1813) The present state of Europe; or, The historical and political mercury. [Monthly journal] 1690-
OR
Mercurius politicus. Comprising the summ of all intelligence, with the affairs, and designs now on foot, in the three nations of England, Ireland, and Scotland. In defence of the Common-wealth, and for information of the people. [ 1650-1660]
WG reads Mercuries at the Red-Cross Library.
Conjecture based on WG's current reading and the following:
WG's History of the Commonwealth cites:
Mercurius Politicus 1st no. 13 June 1650 (6:345).

Unable to identify specific newspapers.
Burney, Charles ( 1757-1817) school master and book collector, had a large library, especially rich in newspapers; and much material on the stage since he was working on an (uncompleted) history of the stage (DNB). Possibly WG consults this collection.
